This is a truly surprising dessert and once you have tried it you will never go back to the sugar filled traditional version.
Made with avocado, banana, dates and cacao it is extremely nutrient dense and absolutely decadent. A little goes a long way and I have found a few spoonfuls with some fresh fruit such as kiwi or mango is all you need.
This recipe was inspired by my friend Andrea Southern. Andrea is a Naturopath and foodie who is always coming up with fabulously healthy and delicious recipes. Check out Andrea’s website for some of her creations.
Give it a go and let me know what you think.
p.s the picture really does not do justice to this amazing food!
3 small avocados
1 medium banana
1/4 cup dates* or unprocessed honey
1teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of salt – Himalayan or rock salt
2 tablespoons coconut oil – this helps the mousse firm up a little
You may need a splash of cold water to help mix to a smooth consistency
* If using dates soak them in hot water for 5-10 minutes and drain before using
Simply add all ingredients to a food processor.
Blend to a smooth consistency.
Transfer to individual bowls or one large bowl.
Cover and set in the fridge until ready to serve.
How easy is that!!
